Our vision is that in a world where English is a global language, the ESU equips people with the skills and confidence to articulate their ideas and share them with others. Through our educational programmes and international opportunities, we help them discover their voice.

Schools and young people are at the heart of what we do. Central to our mission is a commitment to working to narrow gaps in opportunity and achievement and enable every child to discover their voice.

University students make a huge contribution to our work, from judging competitions, volunteering at workshops and mentoring pupil teams at our annual St Andrew's Day Tournament.

We believe everyone should feel confidence in communicating. We offer CPD opportunities for teachers through workshops and training and our Walter Hines Page Scholarship for teachers to travel to the US.
